Our BIG News!

The day has come that I can finally spill some MAJOR beans... we've been keeping a big secret about a tiny person for 3 months and now it is time!!! Charlie had to share the news for us...

Yep, WE ARE PREGNANT!!! Baby Pierce will be arriving in October 2014!!!

Excited is an understatement! We are now almost 15 weeks along with a healthy little one. The heart is beating and the first ultrasounds were all normal. We just had our 12 week appointment and the heart rate was right around 150!

We found out in late January and were in complete and utter disbelief. One random Tuesday night, with no prompting from mother nature, I just decided to take a pregnancy test. We had been trying for a few months. That particular Tuesday was at least 3 or 4 days before most of the early pregnancy tests proclaim true accuracy. I didn't even tell Bill I was going to take it. I peed on that stick and went about my bedtime routine. Then I looked down... and almost fell over. It was plain as day: "Pregnant, 1-2 Weeks"

I was not cute in the way that I told my hubby, either. I walked downstairs in light blue snowflake pajama bottoms and a mismatched purple Crown Royal t-shirt, glasses and pimple cream on my face, hair in a messy bun and said "Billllll.... I have something to tell you," and just blurted it out. It was the most amazing, happiest, scariest moment of my life!

Here is the peanut at 7 weeks:

Fast forward to now:

The FIRST question we get asked every time we tell someone is: when can you find out the gender!? Our answer is that we will find out on delivery day! This is has been the single most polarizing issue to date. I think every family has to decide for themselves and that there's no wrong decision. We want it to be a true mystery!!!

I have been feeling really great! I've had a lot of the expected first trimester issues, but nothing severe, which I am so grateful for. A few weeks of morning sickness (which should be called 24 hour a day sickness) came and went a while ago. I am starting to get some energy back, too! I took almost the whole month of March off from coaching so I could spend all my time napping! I am still tired (working nights might have something to do with that!) but overall I feel much more energetic than I have in the past few months!

I am still working out, but it looks a lot different than it did 3 months ago! I have taken on a modified schedule. I have been doing yoga twice a week and walking the dog a lot! I also have been doing lots of resistance training. Some of my favorite workouts these past two months have been CVX from P90X3, modified MMX (because I love punching things) also from X3, Dirty 30 from the 21 Day Fix, and Total Body Cardio, also from the Fix! I have been doing lots of research on pregnancy fitness and will be posting about it much more over the next few months!

My plan as I enter the 2nd trimester is to do a 5 day per week hybrid of Brazil Butt Lift and ChaLEAN Extreme. I will use Chalene for her amazing weight lifting workouts and Leandro to lift this booty and tight these support core muscles!

I have decided that the theme of our first pregnancy is going to be FORGIVENESS. I am going to forgive myself for caving in to some of my cravings, for taking naps, and for skipping occasional workouts. I am not in this to prove anything to anyone. I want to have a happy, healthy pregnancy and a happy, healthy baby boy or girl. I am going to do everything I can to make that happen and make these next 6 months as enjoyable as possible!!!

Yay!!! So now you know. We have been bursting to proclaim this amazing news publicly since the night we found out. I feel like a weight is lifted (I stink at secret keeping!). I have already done so much research and have so many ideas for amazing blog posts. I cannot wait to share this journey with you all - the good, the bad, the ugly, and the amazing!!

Until next time!
